!!!   ALPACA WINTER WEATHER TIPS  !!!
Below is just a small list of things to help you
get through the winter without injuries or sick Alpacas.
  • Increase feed intake
  • Keep all waters thawed and clean
  • Check wind directions to maintain minimal air flow through your barn (example: close East doors during East winds)
  • Straw on barn floors in extremely cold weather to help keep floor warm
  • Knock icicles off all roofs (can injure the Alpacas when falling)
  • Keep in during icy weather, don't want them to slip and fall on ice
  • Make sure you keep Cria coats on the little ones in extremely cold weather
Last but not least
