In 1957 the Jaspers moved from their family farm to manage a swine operation and hunting reserve owned by Ralston Purina, called Wildlife Farm. It consisted of 250 acres on bluffs overlooking the beautiful Missouri River. Currently Wildlife Farms, Inc now known as River Bluff Farm, Inc. is about 1,000 acres, which is managed by the 2nd generation of Jaspers.. They consist of John (the manager) and Cindy Jasper, and their nephew Ryan Holdmeyer. 

There are 700 plus tillable acres which are farmed by John & Ryan. They grow soybeans, corn and wheat. All the bookkeeping for the business is done by Cindy. The controlled hunting still exists but is for private use only. 

We started with 5 Alpacas and a small barn on 2 acres. Today we have 23 Alpacas and have expanded from the one small barn to include 2 male barns and a new 40' x 60' female barn on approximately 8 acres.

The alpacas are a pleasure to raise. We talk to them, touch them, halter break and walk them. It makes them easier to show and they are less frightened of people. We always welcome visitors at our farm. 

We like to say that our alpacas are a huggable investment and you might say we literally embrace this lifestyle.
